Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information FootyLynk collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using FootyLynk, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information: full name, email address, date of birth, country, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).

Profile information: whatever you choose to add — position, stats, bio, photos, videos, club/organization details.

Guardian information (minors only): a parent/guardian's email address, provided at registration if you're under 18, used solely to send a confirmation request.

Payment information: processed directly by Paystack, our payment provider. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference number — we never see or store your full card number.

Usage information: pages viewed, profile views, and Spotlight video views, used to power features like analytics for subscribers and to improve the Platform.

2. How we use your information

To provide and operate the Platform; to process payments and subscriptions; to send account-related emails (verification, password resets, guardian confirmations, notifications); to protect minors through our guardian-approval system; to enforce these policies and keep the Platform safe; and to improve our features.

3. Children's privacy

FootyLynk does not knowingly allow registration by anyone under 13. Users between 13 and 17 may register only with a parent or guardian's email provided at signup; certain features (being contacted or messaged by other users) remain locked until that guardian confirms the relationship. We collect the minimum information necessary from minors to operate these safety features. Parents/guardians who believe their child has provided information to us without appropriate consent may contact us to request removal.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with: Paystack (to process payments), our email delivery provider (to send account emails), and other users to the extent you choose to make your profile public or interact with them (following, messaging, contact requests). We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a CSRF-protection token to secure forms. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your rights

You can access and update most of your information directly through your account settings. You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account by contacting us at the address below.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed using industry-standard Argon2id encryption. We use HTTPS to encrypt data in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

9. International users

FootyLynk serves users globally. By using the Platform, you consent to your information being processed in the country where our servers are located, which may differ from your own.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
